Surprise visitors!

Today we were very lucky because Mrs Edge brought us in her 6 week old baby turtles.  Mrs Edge told us all about the turtles and we listened hard!

There were four baby turtles and Mrs Edge put them in a special container so we could see them easily.  We noticed they were quite fast!

Thank you Mrs Edge, it was great seeing the turtles!

Athletics sports photos

Have any parents got a really good photo taken at the athletics day suitable for putting in the newspaper?  If so, please see Mrs Forsyth in Room 7, thank you.

Science experiment

I can't wait to show you all this week's science experiment, here is a clue ... It starts with our letter of the week L and has something to do with this Lovely Liquid!

L is for ladybug

We went to Room 6 to see them perform a ladybug poem.  We will make some ladybugs this week too!

Stick insect

Blaize showed us a stick insect.  We talked about how some animals and insects use camouflage to keep themselves safe.  Thank you for sharing Blaize!

K is for Kaboom!

Our letter of the week is K so today we did a K science experiment!  We needed vinegar, baking soda and a film canister.  We tipped some vinegar into the film canister first.  Next we added a little bit of baking soda and really quickly put the lid on.  As the baking soda and vinegar reacted, we could see it starting to bubble inside and then KABOOM!  The lid popped off into the air and the mixture squirted out!  Room 5 and 6 thought this was a great experiment to do, I'm sure Mrs Duston could hear the noise we made all the way down in her office!

Lunch at school

Scooter parking

Well done to Room 5, you are all great at parking your scooters each day!  Keep up this great work!

Assembly

Each Friday morning we go to assembly.  Today we sang "Two little mice" and "Lost property box".  Then Mrs Duston talked to us about the lost property.  We need to be careful to make sure our clothing is named and make sure we don't  leave it outside anywhere!

Congratulations Tane...

...on your Principal's Award at assembly today, well done!
