Outdoor Education-Visit to the Domain & Buller Bridge

We had a great visit to the Westport Domain & the Buller Bridge area. We explored the paths through the Domain, saw little Fantails some butterflies, a cheeky Weka, and some other birds and found a 'Fairy Dell' with a stage to dance on! We explored underneath the Buller Bridge, walked over the bridge across the Buller River, and then rolled down the hill! The children really enjoyed their adventure. We then returned to the Domain, and had lunch near the swings. After lunch and a play with friends, we went back to school.

We saw a big tree that blew over in the big storm last year.

There are stil a few very tall trees left.

On the Buller Bridge.

Here we are over the other side of the bridge. Here is the sign for our town.

Rolling down the hill! It was lots of fun. Some of the mothers rolled down too!

 Having lunch in the shade.

 Playing on the swings.

Is this a cave for a bear?

We had a wonderful learning experience and explored a special place in our town. We learnt about the bush birds and about our river and the bridge.
